Do You Need Time Away?

I am in this house all of the time…

I live here.

I work here.

So whenever I get to get out I take it. (Especially with the cold coming upon us.) In the winters everyone just hibernates – and it is REALLY EASY to sink into that warm blanket and just stay inside. But for me I gotta get out.

And it is not just about getting out – it’s about getting away – taking a break. Now I am a stay at home mom and work at home mom – so what could I possible need to get away from? Hmmmm.

EVERYONE THAT LIVES IN THIS HOUSE!

Yes – that means my husband and my two precious children. (Precious while they are sleeping and a FEW rare moments of awake time.) I actually do have a hard time not doing stuff together. If I am gonna take a trip I want to go with them…but sometimes I actually do something for me.

Like this past weekend. A bunch of women got together and ate, drank, talked and laughed. We had the best time! Yes – it was under the guise of scrapbooking – but only 4 of us did that. The others finished other projects that they have been meaning to do and guess what??? They never had the time!

So make sure that you actually take the time that you deserve. I know that it is hard to find the time, and I know that it can be hard to pull yourself away, and I know that it’s getting cold and you may just want to stay in…BUT DO IT ANYWAY!

Keep or Lose the Wrap-up Videos? [a Poll]

No WAHI Weekend Wrap-up Video this week, Sorry.

I have an eye infection and it is difficult enough to type, let alone face a Camera to do a Vidio. But, this gives me an opportunity to ask all of you your opinion on the Wrap-up Vidios and if you think I should continue doing them.

I know I like doing them, but the Blog is supposed to be about you, the community, and how you can best be served by visiting the site.

How Do Kids Address You? How Do Your Kids Address Adults?

This has been an issue that I have struggled with since before my kids were born. I am old school and feel that children should address adults by saying Mr. and Mrs. I always did that and I still want to address many elders like that as well. I feel that it is a respect issue and your elders deserve that.

Nowadays kids address their elders by using their first names. I am having a hard time with that. I know that sometimes parents say to their own kids that they should address adults by using Mr. or Mrs. (unless told otherwise) if they don’t know them. But once they see that the parents are friends the kids can address those adults by their first name.

I am kind of okay with this – after all my kids address elders using their first names. But I wonder about when they are older. I am not the kids friends. I am their parents friends. Even though we have a fun, casual relationship they still need to have respect.

I know I know. It does not matter what you are called – only what they say and how they think. But if someone calls you “stinky poo” and they have respect for you – is that okay? I say “NO”. How they are addressing you is not respectful.

Okay – I really want your feedback. What do you think of this issue? Tell me your thoughts and opinions!

WAHI Weekend Wrap-up XXVI

This week’s vid is fairly short.

I ask, once again, for you help but this time for the Baby Boomers Forum and Blog.

I’m trying to configure the header text for the title with a border around the INDIVIDUAL letters, not a box around the whole title.

Were’d I Go Wrong?

Frankly, I have no idea.

Numbers keep dropping.

There are fewer Pageviews, and fewer comments, less participation on polls and subscriptions seem to be on a permanent Roller Coaster Ride.

Not to mention my great eBook. I have an average of 10 views per day on Scribd, but -0- sales in the past 2 weeks for that Big Flop.

And as far as the Computer Consulting Business is concerned, forget it. I usually just get a great Thanks, you were so helpful or when I offer to send an estimate for a job, the potential client just disappears.

I’d be embarrassed to mention what my PayPal or Bank Accounts look like at the moment.

Things were better only a few months ago and I had a great reader base and community, loyal customers, and decent income with the consulting business. But Now?

I guess we can file this under the Tribulations section of Working at Home.

Sorry, I don’t want to sound like a complainer, but things are Tuff. I know I’m not alone in this, but there has to be an answer for entrepreneurs running into the same problems financially. Could it be Marketing or Advertising, or something else I seem to be missing?

What I’d like to do is open up the comments for any suggestions or complaints that you have as an Entrepreneur, working at home or otherwise.
