Since today is the 4th of July, I am taking a well deserved day off to celebrate the holiday with family and friends BBQ’ing some ribs, toasting marshmallows and watching Fireworks in my front yard.

So you think Apple came up with the idea of the iPad just recently? The predicessor was designed and worked quite well. That was in 1994!

Testing WordPress 3.1.3

This, and all my other sites were hacked recently. Some of the things that were screwed were, to say the least, inconvienent.

I need to test Pre-posting along with many other things.

Oh, and I want to test uploading pic’s too.

Distractions…

When you work at home there are all kinds of distractions.

Your kids
The laundry
The cleaning

Everywhere I turn I can find something else to do besides work. So you would think that sitting at your computer would help you avoid the distractions. But alas, that does not work either. There are bills, things to look up and then of course my faborite social media sites Twitter, Plurk, LinkedIn and Facebook.

Facebook is definitely my biggest downfall. I love it! The interacting with friends and family, looking at pictures, seeing what people have been up to, and the games. OH the games! I love Bejeweled Blitz and Scrabble. I find friends of mine that like to play those games and compete against them. It is perfect.

So I have my distractions – but at least I know what they are so I can avoid them when I need to.

How about you…what is your biggest distraction?

Remembering My First Post

In my very first post I talked about how people felt that I had the best of both worlds. I could work AND I could be home with my kids. How great is that? It is something that almost every mom wants.

I also said that people had all kinds of ideas of ways that I could get my work done when they were at home with me. But those ideas were great for kids that were age 7 or older. Well, now I have a 7 year old. It should be easier huh? It is in a sense because he is in full time school. But now I am volunteering and then after school I am running him everywhere. AND I still have a pre-schooler at home.

So after this many years I have realized that life just gets busier, harder, more challenging etc. BUT a LOT more fun!

I can get a lot of work done – but I should have more time when my youngest is in full time school. A few more years to go – and I think I will just keep enjoying this time while I can!
