What Else Can We Take Away?

It is the beginning of the new year and we are off to a good start. Eating well, working out, playing with the kids and fantastic attitudes all around! Well, three of us have good attitudes. Our 7 year old does not. She has been nothing but whiny and crabby since she had to go back to school.

I know what your thinking, she hates school. Nope. She LOVES school. She loathes getting up in the morning. So the day begins awful – with her almost missing the bus – and ends worse. Tonight was screaming and whining. Slamming doors and a lot more screaming. Telling us that she hates everyone but her brother and the dog!

So what is a parent to do?

The only thing we could do.

Take her door. Take some of her stuffed animals and blankets. (don’t worry – she has at least 20 blankets and 50 stuffed animals.)

It was not a fun evening – I really hope that she will turn that frown upside-down, smile more and start being more positive. She needs that so she can be happy in life. And frankly, so do we.
