As you know we were on vacation last week – Disney World! Okay – it’s not a RELAXING vacation. Running with a 6 and 8 year old from 8 am – 11 pm for 6 days really makes you tired. But we had the BEST time.
I did get to relax some. On the plane – both ways. I was reading a book. A VERY good book. ”Sarah’s Key.” When I first started I did not think that I could read it. The topic is just heart-wrenching. It did not take long for me to get into it – and then I did not want to put it down. I did not have any time on the trip to read (I wonder why) so I picked it back up on the plane ride home. I thought I would sleep – but the story was so riveting I just could not stop. I finished the book at home that night. After I was done I just felt – empty. I wanted another book. So I picked up another one that I have had waiting for me. I have started reading and I find I want to keep going. But finding time is…well…next to impossible.
I have had a cub scout banquet to plan and run, some volunteer jobs that have to get done, articles to write, work to do, a husband who needs me and of course, the kiddos! So now am I trying to schedule some reading time into my day. I can’t read at night (I just fall asleep). So the question is when. Every day is different – so I don’t have a regular time of day that I can read. Maybe after I get a few of these big jobs off my plate I can make reading a priority.
You think?
What is a priority for you? Just you and no one else?
