Christmas Tree – Fake or Real?

christmas tree1I have always had a real tree growing up.  I love the smell, the experience,..oh so much!  But I do hate the sap, the watering, the needles dropping and the clean up! Oh how I hate the clean up!

About 4 or 5 years ago our neighbors had an extra fake tree that they gave to us.  It has been great.  Easy clean up, no sap, no water – and we had a 1 year old at the time so having a fake tree has been great.

We have had the tree for quite a while and it is looking too small now and I really miss the pine smell.  So we have been thinking that we will do real again.  Also, I really miss how real trees have flaws.  Fake trees have no flaws.  They look too perfect – hence they look very fake to me.

I am wondering what to do.  The price at which we obtained our tree was right.  We don’t have to spend the money every year, we don’t have to water, no needles falling all over the place, no sap to deal with, etc.  But even with all of the negatives I still LOVE real trees.

Maybe we will keep the fake one just in case, and get a real one next year.  See if it’s worth it and go from there.

What do you all think?
