The First Week of Summer is Over

I finished the first week of summer and everything went well! I knew that having a schedule (it’s a loose schedule) would be part of the answer. Kids need that schedule – we all know that – and mine really thrive on it.

The schedule changes every day and every week depending on the activities that are on tap for the week. But we do have one:

Get up
checklist1Get ready (brush teeth, get dressed, make beds)
THEN breakfast
Maybe the gym or maybe some house cleaning (the kids help) – this is a FREE time
School work (printables that I get ready on Sunday)
Spanish
Lunch
Naps (I get to work!)
Relax
Snacks
FREE time
Dinner
Free time
Bedtime at 8-8:30
Then I get to work

Obviously plans can be a little different but so far this has been working well! This schedule is for the week days only – there is much more wiggle room on the weekends.

Having a schedule is also good for my work. I can work at naptimes and after bed. I can work on Wednesdays when I have a sitter and also on the weekends. The nice thing is that I have great friends and a husband who really helps when I have something I HAVE to do.

Week One – establish a schedule – CHECK!

What would you do and how would you do things differently?
