Why Do You Work?

woman-juggling_2There are so many reasons why Moms work.  Money.  Fun.  Entertainment.  Love.  A Break.

There are a few reasons why I decided to work.  Money is one reason – but to be honest – it is a lot easier to work than it is to be at home.  Kids are A TON of work and going to a job outside the home can be a well deserved break.  I wanted to work because I enjoy it.  I really love meeting new people and helping them with their businesses.  I love being a part of something that does not have to do with my kids.

I love my kids more than anything – but I want to have something that is just for me.

A lot of people will say that you need to make enough to cover daycare and then that amount again to make it worth it.   But I feel that is not about the money only – it’s about you and what is good for you.

What’s important to remember is that while your kids may be incredibly important to you, you are still number one.  Selfish?  Maybe.  But it is true.  Take care of yourself and everyone will be happier.

What are the reasons that you, as a Mom, decided to work?

As a working mom I work for a variety of reasons – to contribute financially (especially in today’s economy), to continue to do what I love, to foster adult relationships, to contribute to society! But working from home definitely has its pros and cons. There are some tools and tricks that make it easier, but there will always be a guilt factor!
