The other day I mentioned how much I HATE GOOGLE. Well, I still do.
Here is just another example of why…
I have been using a plugin to convert all the subscriber links to be counted in the FeedBurner Stats and show how many actual subscribers (even through toolbars) I have all in one place. I also use a plugin on the Main Page to show recent posts from this blog to keep links to new posts current on the static page.
The problem is that the plugin for recent posts (by SimplePie) uses the RSS Feed as the basis for finding your most current posts. Makes sense. However, since Google decided to do the redirect from feeds.feedburner.com to feedproxy.google.com the plugin DOESN’T WORK. The “recent posts” shows the last entry from BEFORE they did the redirect.
What I have done to try to remedy this is to change the FeedBurner address in the FeedBurner Feed Replacement plugin to the new Google feed address.
After this is posted I will update this post to let you know if that fixed the problem that Google caused.
Update: After changing the Feed Address from feed.feedburner.com to feedproxy.google.com BOTH plugins seem to work just fine. Make sure that you check (and change) ALL your feed links for everything that contain(s) a FeedBurner Link.
... What is RSS?
