This is how this day happened, not typical but pretty close.
4:00am – Cat gets in closet. Knocks over something. Yell at cat. Back to sleep.
6:00am – Get up to pee & start day. Too cold. Back under covers to warm up.
6:45am – Alarm goes off, roll over, pull covers over head.
7:00am – Cat walks on head (mine, not hers). Get up. Put on warm sweats.
7:05am – Go down stairs. Coffee. (Thank the Lord for timer on coffee maker).
7:07am – Turn on TV News for weather. Get newspaper, read same.
7:50am – Check e-mail, get rid of spam. Check blogs for comments, get rid of spam.
8:00am – More coffee. Check client requests for help.
8:15am – Respond by e-mail to clients needing advice they can do themselves. Kick cat off lap.
9:00am – Go through RSS feeds to see if there is anything that can be of interest for blogs.
10:00am – Take K to doctors for appointment.
12:15pm – Back home, A-Ok. Lunch.
1:00pm – Sit down at computer to write a post for blog. Kick cat off lap. Log-in.
1:01pm – Get errors logging in, leads to WP install page instead of Administration page.
1:02pm – Call Bluehost to make sure site is not being hacked again. Work with their tech to solve problem.
3:05pm – Not hacked, but host was hit with another user being hit with a DOS.
3:16pm – Started writing this post, kicked 2 cats off my lap, closed the office door.
3:47pm – Off to check requests for assistance on Crossloop just received.
Maybe not real interesting, but it IS REAL. If there is still time later, I may be able to get on Twitter tonight to see how my friends are doing.
Have you had any days like this? Do you still want to work at home?
... What is RSS?

Except for the cat, almost any day can turn out like this one!
Hey Debra,
I’m glad I’m not alone. The cat’s are hers, but they seem to have adopted me for some strange reason. Maybe because my lap is warm?
We used to have cats and that was TOTALLY my day. Now my day has kids and not cats – and it can go this way. It’s funny how some days you get nothing done, but you did a lot.
It’s important for people to realize that working at home can be just like going to an office. The main difference is being accountable!
Sounds like a groovy day.
Mine started at about 630am when I woke up, went out on the deck and took some photos of the sun coming up over the Atlantic just off of the Outer Banks beach. After making a brief sunrise video, I headed back in, as even here in North Carolina, the weather is a bit nippy.
Then while making coffee, I emptied the dish washer, and checked some emails. And so the day begins. Today I am actually staying put and doing work on three client accounts. The bills do need to be paid after all.
Hey Brooke,
Cats and kids have a lot in common when you are trying to get work done at home.
It is way better than working in an office, accounable or not, it’s up to you to make sure business gets done.
Hey Adam,
Sounds like you had a pretty good start to the day. Isn’t it nice to have a dishwasher? Bills? Is that why we work so hard? I thought we did it just for fun!
