I’ve made some questionable decisions in the past 2 1/2 years since I started Blogging. I think anyone who has Blogged for a little while has. So, I won’t bore you with the details too much, suffice it to say that I have LEARNED from them and let it go at that.
I did want to share some of the Blogging Decisions I made that I feel made a real difference in how, when and why I Blog.
- I started Blogging. That should go without saying, but it has made a real difference in how I do business and friendships I’ve made.
- I joined in the Community. I started commenting on other peoples Blogs, asking questions mostly, but still tried to contribute where I could. For every comment I made I really got double, no, triple back. When I asked Liz, Darren and many others to do interviews or write a short post, they were more than happy to do it.
- Although I have only been to two different Blogging conferences (soon to be a third) I have benefited more than the amount of cash I spent getting there. I made some really great friends (you know who you are) and some good and profitable business contacts as well as some clients that have been with me since we met.
- Doing some small favors for other Bloggers has been more than returned in quadruplicate (if that’s even a word). Just by helping people with an answer to a simple question or volunteering to help out if they needed a hand has been beneficial in very special ways. Case in point, when my Mom died last year, I made a couple of calls and my friends covered my Blog for a whole week. All Blogging friends, but Real friends none the less.
- On the Technical side (to a degree). I started out using Blogger since it was a free platform and it was fairly simple. When I finally figured out that I really was a Blogger and not just keeping an online diary, I got my own Domain and started using WordPress. Once I made the change things really started to pick up in SEO, Visits and I feel, people seeing me as somewhat of an entrepreneur, not just an amateur.
Ok, that’s only five good decisions I feel I’ve made in Blogging, there are lots more, but these are the Best one’s I can share with you. How about you, will you share some of your good decisions with us?

Great post, Joe. In sum, pick a platform, start blogging, join a community, engage, reciprocate, etc… Pretty straight forward. Thanks!
Hey Troy,
Thanks. That’s pretty much it in a nutshell. Simple but important.
