Is Skype a Good Business Tool?

I think I have developed a habit over the last two years of Blogging. I don’t know if it is really good or bad. I know a lot of you come here for information about working at home and all you seem to get recently is questions from me.
The main reason is that I feel that a lot of you really know more than me about most things “internet” and I trust my friends.
Since I got my new Dell Inspiron 1501 Laptop, I have gained lots and lots of speed and capability to utilize some of the things I had only dreamed of while using my old (its older than dirt) put together desktop. I just installed a video camera, but there is no sound. I don’t have a microphone/headset to go with it, but that will be solved tomorrow.
This all leads up to the main reason for this post.
I plan on downloading and using Skype for my consulting business as soon as I get my new Mic. But, I wanted to get your opinion on the service.
Is this something you use? Is it worth it? (I know basic service is free)
I think it could be an advantage and make life a little easier when I am talking to a client and working on their computer at the same time. What do you think?

Heya Joe!
I use the IM portion of Skype right now ’cause my Mac Mini didn’t come with a mic or a web cam. I’ll be getting one soon so that I can talk with my buddy who lives outside Tokyo. Gorgeous uses Skype catch up with her girlfriend in Australia at least once a week.
I’m a fan.
