Happy Birthday to You
Happy Birthday Dear Working at Home on the Internet
Happy Birthday to You
And Many Moooore!
There seems to be a lot of Blog Birthday’s in October for some strange reason. I’m sure there are plenty of Blogiversaries throughout the year, but I seem to notice the ones during this particular month. I guess it’s like noticing the exact make and model of your car everywhere as soon as you buy it.
Last year, I almost missed my own Blog’s Birthday, so I threw a Party for everyone who’s Blogs were Born in October with a Blog B-Day Carnival.
This year I thought I would just give out links to other Blogs that are Celebrating their Blog’s B-Day (I know, I give out links all the time, but these are special!) Some even have very extravagant parties happening on their Blogs in Celebration.
One that you probably already know about is ProBlogger’s 3rd Anniversary. Darren Rowse is giving away some great presents.
Escape From Cubicle Nation is 2 this year too. I think Pamela Slim is Celebrating in her own way, her baby is due any minute. All the best Pam.
Liz’s Strauss’ Successful Blog is also turning 2 this month. I’ve known Liz the whole time, and actually got to meet this great person face-to-face (what a treat!) at SOBCon 07.
Cat (Catherine if she doesn’t mind me using her real name) started Designers who Blog a couple of years ago as well. Cat brought together some of the Best Web Designers together for a Great Blog.
HART’s HART Empire is having it’s second B-Day in October, I don’t really know which of the nine (that’s right 9) Blogs he started first, but this one brings them all together seamlessly.
Melissa Petri has had a Travel Blog for these past two years called Escape Blog. How someone could keep up with her all this time is still a mystery.
Dee has an appropriately named Blog, the Misadventures of dee that is turning two this October too. If you want to know what a Professional Background and Color Artist does in her spare time, look no further.
Business BlogWire was started by Easton Ellsworth 2 years ago this month and has produced some great insight into the Corporate aspect of blogging. He’s another one I met at SOBCon 07, and he showed me that Family Does come First.
And since Lara Kulpa almost forgot her Blog’s B-Day while working on Darren’s Big Bash, I didn’t. Happy Second to Anubis Marketing, hope to see you around a long, long time.
Happy Blog B-Day to all the October Bloggie Babies (and they are our babies). And now its… In to the Future!
If your Blog was Born in October and I didn’t include yours in this list, Please let me know in Comments and I’ll be sure to include a link to your Blog.

Happy Blog Birthday, Joe! Don’t forget to take your wife out for dinner to celebrate.

LOL Thanks so much, Joe!
I did nearly forget, even though I was trying to spend most of September coming up with something special to do, once I got working on Darren’s Birthday Bash, well it just all went out the window… LOL
Hoping I can get a few sponsors for a giveaway for mine, though I’m quite sure I won’t get anywhere near the 150+ submissions that Darren did!
Just a note - Darren’s giveaway will close out Monday evening sometime - so anyone who wants to get in on the loot needs to get over there quick-like!
Thanks again, Joe - and happy birthday to WAHI!

Hey Rick,
If it survives til #3 we may be able to afford to go to a real restaurant.
I think she may take me and the Blog out to get a Hamburger at Micky D’s.

Hey Lara,

I knew you were busy, but then you always are!
I’ll see if I can come up with something to help you celebrate Anubis’ B-Day and let you know.

A relative newbie to working at home, I am constantly surprised by the number of blogs that have been long running and in good standing.
I applaud you for your birthday, and I am grateful to sites like yours that help other people succeed with working at home.
I am fortunate to now have a position with the founder of The Internet Business School. Not only do I have work as a copywriter, I can avail myself of his free online classes.
With the information you provide, free online classes, and my own will to succeed, I can make a good living at home and still take care of my kids.
Thank you,
Tina

Wow. I missed DWB’s birthday. Again.
Last year I sort of missed it because I woke up to the Thai coup but I recovered with a later post.
I’ve been swamped this year so it’s going to have to be a later post. Once again.
Happy Birthday everyone!

Hey Cat,
Happy Blog B-day to DWB. Sometimes it’s a good thing to be swamped.
Input by Joe | October 14, 2007 @ 10:01 am
Joe,
I agree, it’s great being swamped but I’m at the point of losing my work / life balance. Just in time, Mark McGuinness from Wishful Thinking started a series on Time Management at Business of Design online. I’m planning on blogging about it on DWB by following the course. Wish me luck!
Input by cat | October 14, 2007 @ 10:14 am
Cat,
Just don’t lose yourself in the mix, you are too valuable to the Blogging Community (me included). Send me a link to your post about that course, I’d like to know how it all works out.

Thanks Joe,
I’m sure going to try and get a handle on this time management problem if it kills me!
Here’s the introduction post — Time Management: Getting My Creative Butt Organised
Every Monday I’ll post in the Time Management category.
It’s a great series so if you want to join in, I’d love to have you to bounce ideas off of.

Cat,
I’ll definitely be following that one.
I just read your post. It almost sounds like a long term commitment.
Input by Joe | October 15, 2007 @ 8:46 am
Joe,
I’m sure hoping it’s a long term commitment
