I’m going to throw you a bit of a curve-ball today. Instead of giving you a list of articles I have read this week by Bloggers whose posts are related to Working at Home, I thought I would introduce you to some new friends, their blogs and their expertise.

This past Thursday and Friday, I attended the BlogPhiladelphia Unconference. I really enjoyed the event and heard a lot of new perspectives on Blogging as a Business, For Business and in Conjunction with a Business. But, to me, the more important aspect was meeting new people. Learning how and why they do what they do, how they handle different situations they (and I) encounter and just hob-knobbing with other Business Bloggers.

This is a short list of the people I met, only the one’s I exchanged Business Cards with (and yes, they thought mine was ugly too)…

David Dylan Thomas is a Writer and FilmMaker. His Blog will give you some ideas on what it’s like to be a writer and indy filmmaker as well as his views on current films, music and TV offerings.

Adam and Elizabeth Donkus are a couple of great people. Adam runs (I think he get’s help from Liz) Pixelheadonline. Originally, it was intended to be a marketing site combining Pixelpages and body billboards but transitioned into a Blog about being an Online Entrepreneur.

Lizzie Bean (Elizabeth Donkus’ alias) writes and maintains FatLadySingz.com, a weight loss, self help Blog (and helps Adam out). I don’t think Liz needs to read a weight loss blog, but maybe experience really does count?

Valeria Maltoni has a Blog named Conversation Agent, but that is far from all the talents she has to share. Originally from Italy, Valeria is a communications expert. She has mastered account management and publicity media, market research, corporate communications, integrated marketing communications, event planning, public and media relations, crisis and product management for products and services (This is only a small portion of her portfolio).

Chris Boggs is a Search Strategist with avenue a razorfish. This is one Major Player in the SEO field (both Chris and the company). He has big name clients like FORD and TAJ Hotels just to name a couple, that can attest to his expertise in Search Engine Optimization. Their Blog, The Workplace (written by Shiv Singh), has really useful info for both Corporate and Single person operations.

John Suder is the driving force (it’s his baby) behind ResolveMedia which is a Visual Communications company. He and his team have done some impressive work for clients such as the University of Pennsylvania and Bristol Myers-Squibb. He blogs at Ok, wait for it… johnsuder.com. He has a great sense of humor and is quite impressive in his commitment to Creative Web Design.

Lisa Moore, Ph.D is the Marketing Director of Toonamaion, a one click graphic novel effects company. I think Stan (I think they’re married, but I didn’t ask) is behind the scenes, do-it guy that makes the creative process of turning photo’s or video’s into a Toonish production with a program you can purchase. If you have a need for such an application for your business, this onestep process could make your life easier. Check out the Blog either way, those effects are cool!

Carolyn Manning is a Freelance Writer who owns the blog Thoughts & Philosophies. She presents a lot of helpful information for people who are in need of a bit of a nudge in self appreciation. Her writing is well met with thoughtful discussions in her comment section. She has many other writing projects ongoing with other blogs and blogging networks which can be found in the sidebar of her blog.

Catherine (with a “C”) Larkin is just starting out as a Blogger. As you read this her First Post should be published introducing herself to the Blogging Community. I had a great time talking to her at the conference and the closing party about what she wants to accomplish with her blogging about Art and Traveling and finding new ways to look at art through conversation with her community. I think she is going places, both in the “virtual” and “3-D” worlds. So, stop by The Artful Traveler to say Hi, and tell Cathy you I sent you.

Actually, I’m sure you will enjoy each and every one of my new friends blogs as much as I enjoyed meeting them in person, so stop by them all and tell them I said “Hi!” too.
