Meme’s are not really my favorite thing. So, I don’t think I’ll call this a meme, let’s call it something else like… a chain link of ideas.
I have been sitting here reading my favorite RSS feeds looking for some inspiration. I went through the Daily Google News Alerts for Working at Home to see if there was something new and different to write about. I went through some of my old posts to see if something could be rewritten. I even went over some of my handwritten notes of possible posts. All of which have worked in the past and most likely will work again in the future.
But, Not today. I sit here looking at a blank computer screen, look out the window, back to the computer screen and nothing has changed. It’s still blank.
Here’s my plan for Beating Back the Bain of Writers Block.
It’s a beautiful day outside, I can tell because I keep looking out the window. So, I’m going to take the rest of the Day Off. I”m going to sit on the front patio with one of the books I got in the grab bag at SOBCon. Probably, the one by Lorelle VanFossen, Blogging Tips. I like her style of Blogging and think there should be some really inspirational thoughts to ponder.
So, how do you Fight the Demon of the Blank Computer Screen? (Writers Block)

You know I am not really fond of memes, so if you don’t feel like tagging anyone else, that’s Ok. But, if you would write something to help a New-Old Friend overcome the block that writers get periodically, I Thank You.
... What is RSS?

You didn’t ask me, but I’m trying to visit the folks I had such a great time with last night at SOB, so here goes:
1) Try to remember a dream…either a daydream or a sleeping dream. What about it resonates inside you?
2) Time travel – think about where you were five years ago; what you were doing, where you lived, what your family situation was. Then think five years into the future, and project your goals.
3) Memories – what is the earliest thing you can remember? What do you remember about kindergarten, junior high, or graduation?
4) Heroes – Who do you admire and why? Have you always felt that way? Has a hero of your youth changed or disappointed you in some way?
Hope this helps you the next time you face the blank screen.
Best wishes for a wonderful day!
Hey Marti,
Hi and Welcome, it’s good to see you in the daylight.
All great tips, I’m going to have to write them down so I don’t forget them.
Thanks for your help.
What I do is have a monthly list of articles I want to write about. I assign days to each article. On the days I have article info to write about, I just mark it off my list. If I don’t have anything to write about, I look for the next article due, and go to it! In the long run, you’ll have an article archive of what you want the site to look like!
Hey Wichita,
I try to keep a list and have some backup in the draft folder of the blog, but sometimes they don’t seem to fit what is going on or are totally incomplete thoughts and need to be worked.
Either way, it requires thinking and writing to complete some of those things, hence the “block” rears it’s ugly head. ;-(
Other times, things just seem to flow right along with little or no effort.
I like those days.
OK Joe, you’re on – I’ll wrestle with the demon and let you know on my next post. As a matter of fact, I was just wondering what I was going to post about next, so thank you very much!
All the best.
Hey Terry,
That’s how this whole thing started, I couldn’t think of anything to write about. So, I figured I would as others in a different (?) way.
I’ll know when you write it, I read you all the time.
