Jesse,
It seems we were typing at the same time, talk about timing. :-)

I don't know yet, but I think the background color should come out of the logo, get rid of the bar (at least tone it down) and change the font.

Thanks again.

I'd experiment with a sans font instead of serif.

Hey Jesse,
It was reall nice to finally meet you as well, hope to do it again without waiting a whole year.

Firstly, the Blue Bar only happened by accident, I had originally had a blue background behind the company name. I hated that, but thought the bar would break up the card. Apparently, it's a little much. ;-)

I did try to stay with the same font (using size and bold to differentiate) but I'm still not happy with the way it looks overall.

I'm thinking of shrinking the logo to 1/2 size on the left and taking the bar out. Then putting the email and url across the bottom, full length of the card.

Oh, well, still a lot to work on before I actually print them for use. :-)

Thanks for your insight, expect me to contact you for more. ;-)

Hey, Joe.

Good to finally meet you last week. That was a great time had by all.

My designer eye is perusing your card and, since you asked, I'll give you my impressions.

First thing's first: My eyes go to the blue bar when I glance at it or squint my eyes. They should go to either the logo or one of the names (company or yours) when you see a card.

To correct that, either make the logo pop more or subdue the bar by lowering the saturation.

Second, and lastly: I always pay special attention to the fonts and line breaks. It is a good idea to use 2 styles, but of the same face family. You can vary the styles with italics, bold, size, color or the font itself. Having the orphan 'Service' is distracting, but I agree with Liz that it's a good name for what you do.

I wish you the best in more tweaking, and feel free to gchat me up on petersen.jesse if you want to pass drafts back and forth.
