It’s Over… But will Live on Forever
I had the best time Meeting all my Old Friends for the Very First Time. There was so much interaction between the speakers and participants (more than just attendees) it felt more like a neighborhood get together of friends and not a conference. I also learned a lot more than I could have ever expected from a regular conference. I learned something new and interesting from Everyone there.
Over the coming weeks, I will share some of the highlights I remember (Stoopid me didn’t write anything down, I was too intent on hearing every word).
I only have 2 regrets… Not taking a Camera and Not having business cards with me. I Will have them both next time, believe you me.
The speakers were:
Phil Gerbyshak of Make It Great!
David Armano of Logic + Emotion
Andy Sernovitz author of Word of Mouth Marketing: How Smart Companies Get People Talking
Liz Strauss of Successful and Oustanding Bloggers
Mike Sansone of Conversations and BlogTalk Radio
Drew McLellan of Drew’s Marketing Minute
Rodney Rumford of PodBlaze
Ben Yoskovitz of Instigator Blog
Chris Cree of Success CREEations
Here is a list of participants, as best I remember (Ok, I took them from Dawud Miracle):
David Dalka – Mobile Search Marketing
Todd And
John Yedinak
Joe Hauckes (me)
Adam Steen
Hannah Steen
Chris Thilk
Jean-Patrick Smith
James Walton
Sharan Tash
Robert Hruzek
Sabu N G
Lisa Gates
Troy Worman
Jesse Petersen
Terry Mapes
Sean “Rox”
Jonathan Phillips
Jason Wade
Jill Pullen
Wendy Kinney
Adam Kayce
I hope I didn’t miss anyone. If you were there and aren’t on the list, Please let me know.
Addendum: How could I ever forget someone as talented and kind and friendly and down to earth, not to mention a Great vocalist, songwriter, musician and performer as Christine Kane. Visit her site to get a small sample of her talents, you won’t be disappointed. (Sorry, Christine, for not including you earlier.)
If you couldn’t make this last get together, start saving your pennies now because I hear this could become an annual thing (I hope). I really would like to see you all at SOBCon 08.

Was great meeting you Joe! Looking foward to sobcon08
I agree with you, i should have brought business cards! next year i will!
Great to meet you, Joe. I hope we can see each other again at the next SOBCon if not sooner. I love your sentiment that it was meeting old friends for the first time.
Hey Jonathan,
Yeah, hind thought always works for me.
Easton,
We will meet again, no doubt sooner rather than later.
That’s just the way I felt, I have met everyone on their Blogs and mine for so long they ARE old friends.
See ya both soon.
No camera or biz cards for me, either. But what a terrific group of old, new friends.
Hey Steve,
I think we both have to work on the camera and card thingy, huh?
Really nice talking to you at the conference. I’ll send you an E-mail once things settle down a little.
My camera broke a few weeks ago. But my big forget-me-not became the wireless card. Fat lot of good the laptop does at a blogging conference when I can’t hook up to the network.
It was great to see everyone in that room, though, wasn’t it?
Joe, I loved getting to know you. Thanks for some great laughs. Just wish I had more pictures.
Hey Mark,
I always make a list of things to NOT forget and still forget things.
Great meeting you and best of luck with your new endeavour.
Hey Dawud,
I had a great time getting you know you and everyone else. Sometimes just sitting around having a Bull session is the best way to go!
Joe! It was indeed a pleasure to spent time with you. I fell into that “no camera” thing too, but thank goodness for Flickr. Thanks for all of your help with this – it wouldn’t have been the same without you. PS, I appreciate the hint to go to Word Press by putting in an incorrect link to me
You da man, and go Eagles!
Yeah, I agree. The casual time was just as much a part of it as the session time.
Hey Terry,
Time was too short for all the conversations and just plain fun.
It was sure different talking to you and Liz and Chris and all in person instead of on the Blog or on the phone.
Go E-A-G-L-E-S
I’ll fix the link in a minute.
You got that right, Dawud.
Wow, it’s like SOBCon all over again in everyone’s comment boxes!
Great to have been a part of it, Joe, and like you, I look forward to next year!
Hey Robert,
If this keeps up, it will be like SOBCon all year until the Next Event.
*sigh* while I was but a “virtual” participant.. .sounds like it was quite the extravaganza…. .Wish there’d been tags on the photos so i could ‘ve put faces with names… Guess I just have to be there up close and in person next year !
GP in Montana
Hey GP,
I remember the Blog Names better than the person’s name in most cases.
Wish you were there too. Even though I was there, I have to think about putting the names and faces together.
I have never been really good at names. Oh, well, but I do have a good memory of the people I “knew” already like Liz, Chris, Liz, Lorelle, Sheila, Starbucker, Sandy… and on and on.
Hey, maybe I Do Remember the Names and Faces Afterall.
