Hey Chris,
Sometimes it takes something like this to find ou who your real friends are.
I think I got lucky, the relationships I have built on the internet have turned into real friendships and I value them highly even though I never met any of them (yet ;-) ).
Hope to see you in Chicago in May (I know Australia is pretty far away) but maybe you could be there virtually?!?
Thanks,
Joe

Joe
Firstly Joe, I hope this Easter has been not too bad for you. The first Easter, Passover, Christmas, Hannukah, birthdays etc are always the hardest ones. Those special times when we gather are very hard when we're immersed in grief and loss.
Your post here captures a big part of the reason why I continue to blog. It's the relationships I've built up with people I may never meet face-to-face but with whom I feel a bond and connection. These include people like Carolyn, Rosa Say, Phil Gerbyshak and all my Joyful Jubilant Learning Network colleagues.
Yes I'm "in" to relationships but it constantly amazes me how strong the connections can be when they've been built through blogging. Maybe I'm just attracted to blogs that are written by peoiple with whom I would most likely connect in person anyway!
Whatever ... It works!
