Having Problems Accessing My Own Page

This is a test post. I can’t seem to access MY OWN BLOG. I have no idea what is causing the problem.

I tried to answer Rick Cockrum’s comment and I am getting nowhere. I tried to access through (View Site) in the Dashboard of WP and I keep getting an error that it can’t open the page.

Can someone try it out and see if you can bring up the page, make a comment or anything else and let me know.

joe (at) workingathomeinternet (dot) com.

Thanks

Joe

Update: I still haven’t found out what the problem is, I still get an Internet Explorer error when I try to bring up the Main /WP URL. I tried it on the other computer and it worked once, then I ended up getting the same error (I run IE7 on that one too).

Since the error was from IE7, and I have FireFox installed, I thought I would try to access the page through FF.

IT WORKED…

I am not a big proponent of FireFox, I have been using IE since forever, but I may just change over for good if it works for the important stuff. I had no problems with the other WP blogs using IE, but this is the one that Counts.

I’ll wait until I can keep my eyes open before making a final judgement, but I am leaning heavily toward FireFox tonight.

Thanks for all your help in trying to figure this out, I really do appreciate it.

    3. Ok, your comments came through, but I can’t comment in return the normal way (accessing the blog).

I’m still having severe problems with accessing the page. I got here through the Edit Comments thingy in the Dashboard, and I’m not even sure this will take.

I DO appreciate your help guys.

It’s not happening on any of my other WP blogs or even the main Webpage, just this blog.

I’m going to try deactivating plugins one at a time to see if that has anything to do with it. !?!

      Thanks,
      I’ll let you all know.

    4. Site came up, as did the comments, but the navigation “Recent reader remarks” has a fatal error.

    5. I’m showing the same thing as Stephanie, Joe. It looks like you’ve disabled the recent comments plugin, and need to comment out the function or wrap it in an if-exist block to allow the rest of the page to load.

    6. Hey Stephanie and Rick,

The reader remarks probably had the error because I disabled the plugin. I couldn’t tell, the page wouldn’t come up for me at all…
I reactivated all the plugins and now I’m getting that other error again.
I checked the error log and it tells me I am calling an undefined function and when I reactivate the plugins the error log doesn’t show anything, but I still get the errors!!!!????!?!!??!?!?!

The latest error tells me there is a malfunction in the Akismet counter, I’ll disable that and see what happens.

      Boy, am I having a BAD DAY…

    7. Just to let you know what I got….

at about 9:25 this am, I got the error, I couldn’t get to your page. When I went back at 9:28 I was able to get on your site.

    8. WOW! After I posted I was not allowed to get back o your ste. Then I went to another web site, and went back using the back button, and was able to get back on to post this.

    9. I was able to get to 17th Carnival from the right side menu on this page. That would indicated something wrong with your indax page.

      Input by Paul Lamach | January 26, 2007 @ 9:36 am

    10. Hey Paul,

I’m pretty sure it is something with IE7. I followed through on the error and it says somehting about the firewall blocking access.
Why it happens sometimes and not others??? That’s the big question.
I think it is in the index somewhere, but I haven’t been able to track it down yet.
If you go directly to an individual page, there doesn’t seem to be a problem, hence, index…
      Thanks,
      Joe
