A Few Reasons to Pre-Post

From the very beginning I have posted every day on this Blog. More likely than not, it was something I found that day while surfing around the internet looking for something related to Working at Home.
Â
Recently, I have started to write posts a day or so ahead of time. Last week, I had pretty much everything set to go off at specific times daily. The reasons are many, but probably the one that forced the issue was K needing the biopsy (she’s Ok, the lump was benign) and my need to be there for her. Pre-posting gave me the opportunity to better manage my day, and at least put my mind at ease as far as work was concerned.
In that vein, I plan on doing a good bit more planning of what articles to present and when.
Â
A few advantages of pre-posting:
~~ Not having to worry about what you are going to post and looking for something up until the last minute.
~~ The time of day does, for the most part, make a difference. If you pre-post, you can determine what time to have it “go off”.
~~ When you write something, there may be some tweaks you want to make. This gives you time to think about it.
~~ If something comes up that is time sensitive, you can determine what posts to move to a new date and how they fit in to the schedule.
~~ If you have more than one Blog or other commitments, it makes it easier to adjust your time and efforts to what is most pressing.
Â
In the past it has been difficult for me to preset an article and be patient enough to wait for it to post. I think that the experience of the past couple of weeks has taught me the importance of planning ahead, and having the patience to wait for the plan to come to fruition.
Â
Do you plan posts ahead of time? Does it make a difference to you in the structure of your day? Are there reasons I missed for pre-posting?

What time of day works the best for people? I seem to have luck an the late evening, but I can’t quite put my finger on it.

Hey Brian,
For me, if I get something posted by 7-8 am EST US, I seem to get quite a few more visits than if I post later in the day.
I guess it really depends on what you are writing about and where your readers are from.
I suppose it is more important to be consistant than anything else, that way your readers know they can depend on you being there for them.

Any time, my friend. Hope I helped a little.
Just don’t forget about the readers, they are why we write.
