The (semi) Finished Shoppe

108893821_feebed7db1_t.jpg

The latest in the transition to Working at Home for K is her Beauty Shoppe is (semi)open downstairs. We moved all of her equipment from the Kitchen and Dining Room to the Basement over the weekend.

Before I get too far ahead of myself, let me update you on the process and progress of the Basement. It still isn’t fully done. It’s workable, but not finished.

The contractors finally finished the walls, ceiling, hair-washing sink and most of the floor. The walls are all painted (yes I did help). And the floor is down in the actual work area and most of the entryway. The powder room is almost done, but still no toilet. So, if any of the old ladies needs to use the facilities, they have to go up 2 floors to use our private bathroom.

Now, for the Good News. I can go into the Kitchen and get my coffee without tripping over any customers. I don’t have to smell the permanent solution when someone gets a perm. And the customers are coming in through the back door, not tracking leaves into the Living Area.

I have no idea when she has the contractors scheduled to come in to finish what’s left, but they will have to do it on a Sunday or Monday when the shop is closed. At this point I guess it doesn’t really matter as much because I have the house back.

There are still adjustments we will have to make, but I think the worst of the transition is out of the way.

Stay tuned…

      Hey Monika,

It’s great that now I can get my coffee without bothering her or her customers. ;-)

I’m just glad she has someone else doing all that hard work, if I had to do it, I wouldn’t be able to complain about it, huh? :-)
