Full Feeds in FeedBurner Using WordPress
Â
Way back in July, I asked for suggestions on how to fix the Time/Date on posts and Getting Full Feeds on FeedBurner. Eventually, I figured out the Time/Date thing and did an update on the original post, it was just another quirk of the Andreas Theme.
As far as Full Feeds were concerned, I continued to have partial feeds with FeedBurner. Some people told me that they were showing full feeds in their Bloglines accounts. I don’t know how they did that because the FeedBurner account was still showing partial feeds.
I went into the Forum at FeedBurner and asked for help. They couldn’t figure out why I was having the problem since I had the RSS in Wordpress set to Full and I had the Summary Burner set as inactive in their setup. But the question remained of how come people were able to get a full feed through their Bloglines Account.
I just gave up.

I returned to the FeedBurner Forum recently because I was thinking of ways to improve income and needed Full Feeds. Text Link Ads (aff) offers publishers the opportunity to put Advertisements in their RSS Feeds, and it would be easier to sell space if there more than just a teaser link to the Blog post.
So, once again I was looking at ways to show Full Feeds through FeedBurner. Still getting the same answers from FeedBurner. Still no change in the feeds. Still the problem of partial feeds.
Where am I going with this you may ask. If you are subscribed through FeedBurner, you should already have the answer. I figured it out.

I thought that if people are getting full feeds on some accounts and not others, there is a reason. I started to investigate different ways of subscribing to RSS. The first thing I did was subscribe to my own feed. I was still getting partials. I tried looking up “myfeed.com/feed/rss” in my address bar and got the RSS readout, not the actual Feed. Then I looked up “myfeed.com/feed” and lo and behold I got the FULL FEED.
FeedBurner says there is no difference between using “myfeed.com/feed/rss” and “myfeed.com/feed” in their setup of your account. Well there IS!

Luckily, I have more than one WordPress Blog set up with FeedBurner, so I experimented with one of the Blogs that only had a few subscribers. I changed the Feed address I was giving FeedBurner from /feed/rss to plain old /feed. When I tested it, I got a Full Feed through FB. I changed a couple of the others and got the same result. Then I got brave and changed the Main Blog, and got mixed results. I showed some partials and some full.
I unsubscribed and resubscribed and that problem was solved. So, if you are getting both partial and full, please unsubscribe and resubscribe. But ALL New Feeds should not be a problem any longer, you should be getting Full Feeds.

Let me know if you are still having problems, and I will see what I can do.
