I love a challenge. Liz over at Successful Blog is having a Blog B-day on October 24 and has issued a 25 Word Birthday Challenge writing project.
Â
The rules are as always simple, and easy to follow…
1. Twenty-five words is the limit.
2. Describe Successful-Blog — your experience, a memory, something funny, UPDATE: no need for love notes to Liz . . .
3. Post your answer on your blog UPDATE:OR JUST EMAIL IT TO ME..
4. Send the link AND the 25 words to Successfulblog [at] aol [dot] com
5. Entries must be received by noon, Sunday, October 22, 2006 UPDATE:OR AS SOON AS YOU CAN.
6. One entry per person.
7. As always, be nice.
Â
And there are Prizes…
1. An autographed copy of Phil’s Book, 10 Ways to Make It Great!
2. An autographed copy of my dearest writing essay “Walking on Water.â€
3. A guest post or an interview by/with me.
4. Every participant, of course, will get linked and front page notice on the 24th.
Â
Well, since we’re not allowed to send love notes to Liz, I thought I might try a poem instead.
My favorite is Tuesday Night
cause spelling doesn’t count
and you can link your site,
There are drinks in the sidebar
whatever your delight.

Happy Blog B-Day to Successful Blog, and Liz, keep up the good work. Stop by at Liz’s on Tuesday night for a Special Birthday Open Mic Night.

Hey Liz,
Glad you like it. Does this mean I don’t have to send you an email with the link?

First, great blog you have here.
Second, nice entry; now I need to write mine.

Joe, nice job - now the “love note” (of a sort) I just posted looks pretty lame - but it was exactly 25 words! All the best.

Hey Carolyn,
Thanks, That’s a compliment from an SOB like you.
Yeah, I noticed. Welcome to the club.
Let me know when your write your entry, it has to be good if it’s anything like the rest of your work.

Hey Starbucker,
I didn’t count, how do you count the hyphen? :-0
You stayed with the travel thing pretty well, I just figured since I end every OMN with a poem of sorts, it would fit in pretty well for this.

Hi again Joe,
Thank you so much.
My entry just went out. I’ll send you a copy.
Is it ok if I add you to my links?

Hey again Carolyn,
Your entry was excellent. I think you got Liz’s philosophy down to a tee.
And it would be a privilege to have you link to me.
Thanks,
Joe

Joe: I just finished linking you to the three Write Heres. Thank you.
Starbuck: I tried to leave a comment on Half Full, but Blogger’s having a problem. Neat entry, especially the ‘four-lane mountain highway’.

Hi Joe, I guess in some circles a hyphen is a word, but hopefully not in Liz’s world! Keep writing your poetry - it wouldn’t be OMN without your little ditties.
Carolyn, thanks for visiting my blog and attempting to post a comment - I checked out your Liz entry and it’s a gem. Like your blog too.

Hey Starbucker,
I would never count a hyphen as a word either. I doubt if Liz would.
Hope to see you Tuesday night for the B-day party.
