Easton Ellsworth of Business BlogWire started a thing called Blog-Tipping a couple of months ago. On the first of each month, we should pick three Bloggers we read and give them three compliments and a helpful tip. Since I think it is such a great idea, I thought I would try my hand at it another time (This is becoming a good habit).
Â
So, for This Months Blog-Tipping Event:
SuccessCREEations… Chris Cree
1. The Blog has a nice clean easy to read look, the content is front and center.
2. Cris has a topic oriented Library in the sidebar which compliments the overall feel of the Blog.
3. The content is always a good read with plenty of information and tips.
Tip:Â Keep writing and stick with it, this could go far.
Â
Instigator Blog… Ben Yoskovitz
1. This blog is one of the better sources for information about entrepreneurship and small business out there.
2. Ben’s sense of humor shows through in quite a bit of what he writes.
3. Navigation, subscriptions and contact links are easily accessed without having to look for them.
Tip:Â Keep this going, we don’t want to lose this one.
Â
TechZOnline.net… TechZ
1. There are always some good tips, especially for the new Blogger and/or Webmaster.
2. TZ is not one to skimp on links, he links to friends and also shares resources he has found.
3. TechZ is not afraid to try something new if he thinks it will help the blog or his readers.
Tip:Â Continue on your present course, I’m sure will be rewarded for your efforts.
Â
I think this is a worthwhile project and hope you try your hand at Tipping a Blog(ger) next month. My plan is to continue this project monthly because I like the whole idea of being helpful to other Bloggers and sharing the Link Leak Virus in this way as well.
Have you Tipped a Blog lately? Who was it? How did it make you feel?
Â
I know it’s a day early, but I already had tomorrow’s Weekly Helpful Reads written and I’ve been doing that a lot longer.Â

Ok, I finally got fed up with all of the return, spam E-mail I have been getting. I have put a contact form in my Contact Page.
There was a lull of about a week or so in getting all of the return mail I was getting. Not from anything I had sent but from someone Hijacking my E-mail as I mentioned in a post back then. Seanrox suggested getting a contact form from Ryan Connect.
I took him up on his suggestion, so now if you want to contact me, you don’t even have to see my E-mail address. Just fill out the form and click send, and I will get it.
As another way to try to combat the Spam influx, Lara suggested I set up a “catch all” for my email server. This also has been done. The only thing is I have different E-mails for just about every aspect of my online life. Everything that is on my domain already had a default for spam, which works very nicley. Everything else (personal) goes through various mail services that all have their own protection against spam and stealing addresses.
Something else Lara suggested was to make my Domain Private. I’m not really sure how to go about doing this, but I am going to find out soon enough. Personally, I think that if someone knows your URL, they can pretty quickly just add admin@ to it and get something going. I still want to try it, just to see if it works, I’ll let you know.

I hope you noticed, I put a search (Google/Site) in the top of the sidebar. It replaced the Subscription by E-mail link, which is now in the RSS section below.
I have used search before on the old Blogger Blog and it did fairly well. I read a post that Lara wrote today that convinced me to use it here. I had contemplated it for a little while but didn’t want to overcrowd the Blog. Her post led me to realize the importance of using search to help readers find what they are looking for.
Google Search now offers a Web search and searches of 3 different URL’s of your choice. Something to consider, even though you can use any .com you like, you Can Not use the search for different pages ie. /WP or /blog. If you are like me, and quite a few other people, that makes for a difficult choice.
Since I do have a Webpage on my .com index URL, I can use the search for that. But, my intention was to offer choices to search the Blog, then the Website and/or my Freeware Finds Blog then the Web. Not happening.
It’s beyond me why AdSense doesn’t allow for pages since in a lot of cases (like mine) the search is more useful for the specific page(s) involved. They have it for themselves, “search google/adsense” why not for everyone else?
As I said, I really wanted to offer the opiton of a search, so I will leave it for now. I will keep an eye on it and see if it is of any use to anyone.
Do you have a search option on your site? Have you had any problems with searches on specific pages (/blog or /articles)?
