Checking Statictics, Reading Every Blog in your folders, Procrastination, Watching the news, Playing with a new program, Looking for E-mail you may or may not expect, Washing the dishes, Doing Laundry, Checking Snail-mail, and on and on.
Each and every one of these distractions are things that are probably Self-made and are definately Self-destructive when when Working at Home. Most times If I can’t think of something to write, I find other ways to distract myself. I think that Reading Everything will give me some insight, or an idea may pop into my head.
This is sometimes true, but then I continue reading, or thinking of other things that need to be done around the house and continue to avoid Working.
There are ways, I’m sure, to get around that. But I haven’t found the fool proof way yet. Calling it Writers Block only helps in giving yourself an excuse to Not Do Your Job.
I’ve written no less than a dozen posts on writes block, distractions and procrastination. All of which can be found in the Attitude Category, but the only way I have found that Really Works for Me is to START WRITING.
That is why this post exists, if I don’t concentrate on the task at hand, my business Will Self-Destruct. Actually… I will be Responsible for the Failure of my Business.
I can’t let that happen.
