4 Reasons Posting Frequency Matters
![]()
How often you post really does matter. I have said in the past that as long as your readers know when you post, then it shouldn’t really matter how often that is. This is not entirely true.
Although consistancy does matter and quality of the content even moreso, frequency should also be considered for a few reasons.
~~ Even though your regular readers may get used to when you post, someone who finds you through other means like Search Engines and referrals from other sites may like what they see. If they come back one or two or even three days in a row and there is nothing New, they most likely will go somewhere else for updated information. I know, I have taken more than one link out of my daily read list for that reason.
~~ SEO is very much affected by how often you post. The Search Engine crawlers like New Things. When they crawl your site and see current posts they tend to notice. They also tend to notice when they happen to crawl a site and they already have that information. There is nothing new to report, so your site could begin to slip down in the rankings.
~~ Advertisers like Pageviews. The more often their ad is seen, the better chance of it being converted. This should more than likely lead to more revenue for you. If people aren’t looking at your page for whatever reason, the advertiser could very well Opt-Out.
~~ Even if your objective is making an indirect income by exposure of your writing, art or any other talent you possess, the more people that see your page the better. When you post frequently, there is a better change more people will be exposed to your unique talents. See SEO above.
I only came up with 4 reasons posting frequency matters, I am sure there are plenty of others that I didn’t think of.
Can you add to the list? Are there reasons for posting less frequently?
