Basic Tools I Use
It has been suggested that I share some information on the Types of Tools available for the Work at Home Internet Business. I have tried many different programs and have continued to use those which I found useful for me and my Business. This is far from a complete list of things that you could use, and probably there are better out there, but ALL OF THESE ARE FREE.
eTrust EZ Antivirus …Â I have used this Antivirus program for a few months and find it quite satisfactory. Created by Computer Associates, it has all the standard features of any of the others on the market. You can set it up to run “real-time” and get updates automatically.
Microsoft Defender Beta (2) … Updated anti-spyware for Windows products. I have been using Beta 1 and am quite happy with the application. I just started using Beta (2) and so far it is working out just fine.
Abykus… Is a versitile Spreadsheet. I use it because it is similar in process to the Lotus program. However, it is much more than just an accounting program. I use this for all my Off-line accounting.
SpyBot S&D… One of the premier anti-spyware programs. I have used it on both of my computers for a long time, and find that with the timely updates available, you should have few problems blocking most spyware trying to infest your computer.
Front Page Express… can be used like Microsoft Word or Publisher. It is easy to use with some experience in the use of HTML. You can create and upload your own Web Page to any server.
Since I have just started with the New Domain and WordPress, I have only just begun using Akismet for Comment Spam and SpamAssissin for blocking Spam from my new E-Mail addresses. Both of these seem to be working quite well, although I’m still in the early stages and trials.
A while ago I started the Joe’s Freeware Finds page which has a much larger selection of programs and plug-ins that are available online.Â
What Tools do you have in Your ToolBox? How do they work for you?

I use Avast! for my anti-virus program and have used it for over a year now which works really well for me. I do my web design with Frontpage and uploads/downloads with SmartFTP Client and finally - for the Google Site Maps I use SOFTplus GSite Crawler http://gsitecrawler.com/ which is also free and pretty easy to figure out as I’m not a techie!

Hey Tammy,
I have heard good things about Avast! So far I am happy with eTrust, never had any problems (fingers crossed, knock on wood).
I tried Site Maps on the old Blogger Blog, never got it to work right. It might be time to try it on this WP Blog, I’ll try out that gsitecrawler also.
Thanks,
Joe
