Maintainence Day:
One thing that some people forget is the maintainence of their computer. Unless they run into a problem, most people don’t do much more than log in to the computer and start working.
Of course if you have a Tech on premise then you don’t have to worry about it too much. However, most of us Working at Home, don’t have that luxury. Therefore, the maintainence falls upon YOU.
You should have an Antivirus running real-time whenever you are online. You should also have a Firewall to block unwanted access. Any program such as Spybot, Adbot, etc should be used to block unwanted Spyware and other tracking type infestation. These steps should aleviate most of the problems you will encounter.
Remember to UPDATE all of these programs. Updates are usually included FREE of CHARGE with any reputable program on the internet. Immunize and update definitions at the same time. Also, DO NOT FORGET to RUN the PROGRAMS AFTER you UPDATE. New viruses, etc are being written everyday, so this is a very important step.
At this time, you can also take the time to update drivers for your computer, this could enhance speed and reliability of installed hardware.
